SRH
founder Kumudini Devi was influenced
by the teachings of Swami Sivananda - he encouraged her towards
helping people through social work.
Though
she had held many positions of influence in the government
(including being the first female mayor of Hyderabad) Kumudini
was more interested in setting up Sivananda Rehabilitation
Home & Hospital, and Balika Nilayam.
Kumudini's
family in the U.S. recently started Sivananda Center
to support her work and ensure that it continues. We welcome
